Equine Land Testing Phase
Important Information!
This is very important information about the current status of Equine Land!
By joining Equine Land, you agree to and understand the following, so please read!
Answers to just about every question from the site status to how everything works is here
so please refrain from asking us questions while we continue construction.

Equine Land is currently in a testing phase. This is a brand new virtual horse game that is still being developed and undergoing debugging. Although it is open to the public to join and begin playing, there are several very important things that you should know as a member or potential member. This phase began on February 24th, 2008 and the date it will end is currently unknown. We estimate that it won't take longer than a month (approx. March 24th, 2008) to complete this phase.
The most important thing to know about this current testing phase is that everything will be erased and reset once the testing phase is complete. We are currently only opening the website to the public so that users can help us find any problems or bugs. Everyone is welcome to participate and play as they like, but do remember that once this phase is complete that everything will be erased. This includes the resetting or deletion of all user accounts, deletion of all horses and all other records.
Another significant point is that there are currently no official rules, guides or help available. We will be basing most of the rules for this game from those at Equination.net, so the basic rules (keep it family-safe) from there will apply here. During this testing phase, rules are not very significant since everything will be deleted in the end. In fact, we are encouraging - within reason - attempts at breaking the rules and cheating, as long as jackie@equination.net is notified with details so the problem can be fixed. A simple breakdown of the schedules, updates and of how some things work is available at the bottom of this page. Please try to refrain from asking us a lot of questions that could be easily figured out or are already answered here. Since everything will be deleted, it's okay to make mistakes!
As you will find, there are only a portion of the features of the website that are actually working. All of the basic components of the game are available, which is why we are opening for testing right now. During the testing phase we will be completing most of the remaining features, though some of the less significant features will be brought in later, once the game is officially open. There are a few of the incomplete features listed in the drop down menus at the top of the website to give you an idea of some of the things that will be coming, though there are plenty of more exciting features that are not listed. You are also likely to find that some links don't work (or take you to the main or wrong place) throughout the site, please just ignore them for now.
We will be using the Equination.net Message Boards for Equine Land. There will be a group of forums created over time somewhere on the forum listings that will be designated for Equine Land discussions. The game bans will be posted in the Equination.net game ban forum in a thread specifically for Equine Land.
If anything new arises that we need you to know, it will be posted here so please check this every so often for any updates or notices.
Summary

- Experiment and play with available features rather than ask for help, since the site will be reset you don't have to worry about ruining your stable

- It is highly recommended you try to violate rules and do things wrong in the game to help us fix problems if you can succeed at doing something you shouldnt
- If you find any problems, quirks or can do something "illegal" (such as the buy-back/transferring rules at Equination), please send complete details to jackie@equination.net
- Again, we encourage everyone to push the site to its limits so that all the loopholes and glitches can be fixed
- No one will be penalized for doing something wrong, this is why we will reset the game at the end of testing
- Several features are currently unavailable, please do not ask us questions about them as information will be available once they are complete
- If you find a link that does not work or takes you to the wrong page, please do not notify us and just ignore it for now
- A group of forums at the Equination.net Message Boards will eventually be created for Equine Land
- Equine Land bans will be listed in a thread in the same forum as Equination.net's bans
- As any important updates or notices arise about the test phase, they will be posted here so check back every once in a while
How EquineLand Works
Various Notes
- Seasons will eventually be the same as Equination, lasting 3 months
- There will be no designated breeding season
- On your stable info page you will find detailed notices if you buy/sell/breed/have your horse bred to/train/race
- For the breeding/sale notices, expenses/income is broken down (stud fees, base fees) and totaled, showing how much you made/spent
- There will be records kept for a lot of things (ex: total studfee expenses; how much in stud fees a specific sire brought in, etc.)
Horses
- Horses can only be involved in one thing at a time (ie. entries, sales, stud) if you can do multiple things, please notify us
- Similar to Equination, horses have H/E and now also happiness, which should be treated/regarded the same as h/e
- This is updated daily around 10 pm EST
- Horses can only train once per week
- Chances of injury are next to impossible to get right now, once we're ready the odds will increase to test the waters with injuries
- A horse appraisal feature will be available eventually to give an estimated price or studfee for a horse
- You have only one stable since horses do not get retired to stud/broodmare here
- Everything is pretty straight forward and similar to EQ except breeding
- Breeding Info
- Horses can breed and return to competition but cannot do both at the same time
- Horses involved in breeding must be the same breed, cross-breeding wont happen
- Mares have a limit of 1 foal per season
- Limits can be set for studs and actually work properly unlike EQ
- Upon being placed up for stud/broodmare, H/E drops and remains low until removed
- After the breeding process is complete, sire/dam will lose significant h/e/h
- Foals are immediately 2 and can train/show right away
- Showing & Training
- Horses are likely to be good at several different classes in their event category, including racing
- For now, horses cannot switch disciplines, eventually they will
- Eventually, trainer consultation will be available to tell you everything - suitable events, training suggestions, proper level, etc.
Shows and Races
- Created each night for that day next week at 11 pm
- Horses can only be in one show/race at a time and cant be involved in anything else on the site
- Levels are from 1-5, 1 is the easiest, 5 is the hardest
- All shows and races with less than 7 entries get filled with ghosts starting at 11:45 am EST
- Ghost quality reflects the level
- All events take place starting at 12:00 pm EST
- Winners decided upon by ratings earned
- H/E lost varies for various reasons
