The special event action continued today with several special Driving Events taking place. The events were open to four-year-olds and upward and offered purses of $250,000 each. Here are the results!
First up was the Accuracy Driving Stakes, which was won by Outside the Fire with a 93.5 rating. The nine-year-old Hackney stallion earned the prestigious Horse of the Year title last season along with the top Driving Male Horse award. He is owned by Brer Knoll and was created by prospectranch. He has won 58 of 68 career shows and has earned over $5.3 Million. Placing second with an 89.75 rating was Fox's Le Guardia owned by Foxfire Academy. Third place went to Falling For You who earned an 89.5 rating for owner Whisper Goodbye Acres.
In the Combined Driving Stakes it was Brer Instinct who came out on top with a 100.5 rating. The seven-year-old American Saddlebred mare is owned and created by BRer Knoll. She has won 82 of 91 shows and has earned over $5.9 Million in her career. Whispy's Liason placed second with a 98.25 rating for owner Whisper Goodbye Acres. Placing third with a 95 rating was Fox's Phoenix owned by Foxfire Academy.
The Cross-Country Driving Stakes was next and it was won by Whispy's Tiburon who earned a 98 rating. The six-year-old gelded Morgan is owned by Whisper Goodbye Acres and was created by Dixieland Stables. He has won 33 of 38 career shows and has earned over $2 Million. Placing second with a 97.75 rating was TSF Ashy Heat who earned a 97.75 rating for owner Lonestar Farms. Fox's Lotus Exige placed third with a 97.25 rating for owner Foxfire Academy.
In the Dressage Driving Stakes it was Fox's Quicksilver who came out on top with a 94.5 rating. The eight-year-old gelded Andalusian is a homebred from Foxfire Academy that is by Fox's Palladium out of Fox's Pursuit. He has won 23 of 58 career shows and has earned over $1.4 Million. Second place went to Abraxas Black Tie Affair who earned a 94.5 rating for owner Abraxas Gaited Division. Placing third with a 91 rating was Capital Hill owned by Lazy Acres.
Last, but not least, was the Driving Conformation class, which went to Raise Your Glass who earned a 99.25 rating. The nine-year-old gelded Hackney is owned and created by Lazy Acres. He has won 81 of 107 shows and has earned over $5.6 Million. Tessy's Antics placed second with a 99 rating for owner Lonestar Farms. Third place went to Black Butte Bomb who earned a 93.5 rating for owner Brer Knoll.
